Steph Curry Makes NBA History vs. Memphis Grizzlies
POSTED BY WLAS February 4th, 2024 0 COMMENTS

While Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry did not have his best shooting game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night, he still finished with 20 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds. With his 480th career game with at least 20 points and 5 assists, Curry passed Damian Lillard for the 9th most such games in NBA history.

Next up on this list for Curry is NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who had 482 career games with at least 20 points and 5 assists. LeBron James sits atop this list with 1,015 such games, and nobody is even close to him.

Curry’s playmaking ability often gets overshadowed by his shooting and scoring. While Golden State’s motion offense doesn’t generate as many assist opportunities for Curry as more heliocentric offenses do, Curry is an incredible passer who is able to make plays for his teammates.

Nobody has more gravity on and off the ball than Curry does, and opposing defenses regularly pick him up at half-court. This is often with multiple defenders as well, which allows Curry to find the open man for an assist or hockey assist. This is the biggest reason Golden State has been the most dominant team in the league since Curry’s rise to stardom, and it’s why they still have a chance to beat anybody on any given night.
