Shedeur Sanders Ranked As A Top 10 Impactful College Football Transfer In The Portal Era
POSTED BY WLAS June 4th, 2024 0 COMMENTS

When the transfer portal officially opened in October 2018, it forever changed college football. Multiple teams have changed their program’s trajectory with massive additions from the transfer portal.

Most notably, LSU landed former Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow before the 2018 season. Burrow would lead the Tigers to the CFP National Championship and put together one of the most impressive seasons in college football history.

247Sports ranked the 10 most impactful transfers in the transfer portal era, and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was ranked No. 10.

“The younger Sanders ranked eighth nationally with a 69.3% completion rate, and his three interceptions tied for the fewest among all FBS quarterbacks with at least 400 pass attempts,” 247Sports’ Cody Nagel wrote.

“Sanders threw for 3,230 yards with 27 touchdowns. He did all that despite having one of the worst offensive lines in front of him as the Buffaloes gave up 56 sacks, second-most among all FBS teams.”

Nagel determined the four-win Colorado Buffaloes would have been much worse if it wasn’t for Sanders a season ago. Many have ranked Sanders as one of the top quarterbacks for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Now, the Buffaloes head back to familiar territory in the Big 12, and Sanders is looking to solidify himself as the top quarterback prospect.
