SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —The Limestone College student shot and killed at Spartanburg Methodist College will be remembered Thursday at noon.

Limestone is planning a day of remembrance for Delvin Simmons, who was killed Monday night.

The ceremony will be held at the Curtis Administration Building.

The campus chapel also remains open for anyone who wants to mourn Delvin Simmons.

His father says he “wants justice” for his son.

Delton Jasper spoke to WYFF News 4’s Mike McCormick on Wednesday morning.

His son, Delvin, died of a single gunshot wound to the head, according to the coroner. Coroner Randy Bogan also said he suffered gunshot wounds to his body.

The shooting happened after campus police officers were called to investigate a report of a car break-in, according to investigators from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said Simmons attempted to leave the scene in a car and when two officers approached him, he struck one of the officers with the car. The officer shot and killed Simmons, authorities said.
