Colorado Commit Jordan Seaton Says Schools Used ‘Negative Recruitment’ to Try to Sway Him Away From Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes
POSTED BY WLAS December 28th, 2023 0 COMMENTS

Five-star Colorado commit, Jordan Seaton, was one of the most highly-recruited members of the Class of 2024 as the No. 1 offensive tackle, according to 247sports.

During a media session on Friday, Seaton was asked if he experienced schools using “negative recruitment” in an attempt to sway him away from the Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders.

“This was the most famous one I got, they said ‘What do you want to be, a rapper or something?’ And I’m like ‘Ay, I get what you’re saying, but…'” Seaton shared of a non-specified school. “It was a lot of negative recruiting about [Sanders.]”

Sanders’ Colorado team has received plenty of media attention this season, and it appears as though opposing coaches were set on luring recruits away from the program after the success the Buffaloes found in the transfer portal ahead of the 2023 season.
The impact of Sanders taking over the Colorado head coaching position was shown clearly through the 51 transfers that joined their program this season, the top ranked transfer class according to 247sports.

The transfer success has carried over into this season, with the Buffaloes already having commitments from 18 athletes, for the second ranked class.
